The Name
The primary meaning of Hanoon remains the biblical image of God’s eye, the apple of His eye, rooted in Deuteronomy 32:10 and Psalm 17:8.
As a welcome secondary sound resonance, the Korean name “하눈” can also sound like “하는” and opens toward active expressions such as 찬송하는, 통독하는, 기도하는, and 찬양하는. This secondary resonance enriches but never replaces the primary biblical meaning.
